15 Things To Add To Your Spring Wishlist

So apart from having a serious lack of commitment to my blog over the last couple of weeks, I’ve been SO busy.

Like unbelievably busy, like there hasn’t been enough hours or cups of tea in the day to squeeze everything in and (I’m so sorry guys) but the blog’s fallen behind a couple of weeks.

Soz bout that but life, wine and pizza y’know?

AND AMERICA.

Two Cats One Flat Spring Summer 2017 Fashion Beauty Trends

A couple of weeks ago I flew over to Newberg, Oregan for a work trip and LOL I was probably the biggest, stereotypical tourist in the planet (OMG they really do have a Taco Bell on every corner and heh, Oreo flavoured Jell-O is really a thing?).

But when a girl has a day off she HAS to hit the mall and Sephora before heading back home (and the Cheesecake Factory SWEET LORD Reeses Ultimate Peanut Butter cheesecake come back to me).

So to get back into the swing of being the absolute hashtag girl boss and get my blog back up and running again, Imma literally gonna do a massive screen dump off all the bits that I have seriously been umm-ing and ahh-ing over the past couple of weeks because HELLO VERY NEARLY SPRING.

Except, I’m still shuffling around the flat in supersized socks and a gigantic jumper because as much as I’m wishing for the warmer weather to be here soon, Spring where you at hun?

After hours of online browsing (and screen-shotting like 4592 things just in case I somehow miraculously win the lottery this weekend) it’s pretty much safe to say that embroidered florals are STILL around for this coming season (much love) but c’mon guys, it’s all about the mules this Spring.

P.S You lot know I’m a huge M&S fan, so Number 7 is already sitting in my online basket.
Soz not soz.

The Prettiest Beauty Look For Spring 2017

Oh hey there boo thangs.

I’m feeling so lost right now, James and I have just finished watching the last of Taboo and I’m like WHAT DO I DO WITH MYSELF now that James Delaney and his slightly sexy grunts are no longer in my life?

Cry. Cry into pizza and cry into wine and I’m sure that we will find something to watch again soon.

But otherwise, generally I’ve been a bit of an old lady slash house hermit recently because we have been so busy with trying to get everything organised for our new house. I’ve been getting so incredibly excited about the idea having a garden that it almost makes me wanna run to Tesco, grab the largest bottle of pimms possible and throw the biggest garden party ever.

I say this, yet I’m currently sitting in the house with a thick jumper and socks with the heating whacked up to high so yeah, new house and Spring hurry your lil tush along will you?

So, to try and get some major Spring inspo going on here because I’M DYING for a season change, I’ve been scouring my many mags and I think I may have nailed a gorgeous beauty look which will see me all the way into summer.

B A S E

It’s official guys, pack away your matte and whip our your lightest, dewy-ist foundation that you can because a fresh face is in RN.

After a whole season‘s worth of heavy foundation and contour to hide those pesky zits that come with the joy of the winter air, Spring is gonna be about having a base or foundation which actually allows your skin to breathe (IKR, who wouldda thought it was possible?).

After browsing Boots (with limited funds damn you house move) I decided to try Rimmels Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory and it’s slayin’ sista the Match Perfection Concealer & Highlighter

I have to admit, I was kinda sceptical after using up the last of my gorgeous YSL but this has to be my favourite high street foundation RN. It’s long lasting, doesn’t feel too heavy on my face, blends SUPER easily and leaves a really nice healthy glow. I just blended the concealer over a gross zit on my cheek, and swept under my eyes and cross my cheekbones to highlight (shop here and here).

We’re also going to see less heavy contouring going into Spring so highlight in some areas, use bronzer sparingly around the hairline/jaw and blush awaaaaay. I used the Tarte 12-hour Blush which between you and I was a freebie from Sephora in Oregon, and blend from the apples to the temples you absolute beaut (shop here).

B R O W S

I need to do my eyebrows, this is a fact I have been telling myself for the past couple of weeks but HURRAH Spring’s eyebrow trend just about allows me to keep my straggly eyebrows for a little bit longer.

Boy-ish and flat looking eyebrows appeared in London Fashion Week models, so we’re moving away from brows that are heavily pencilled in to a more feathery and natural look.

Also an absolute steal from my trip to America, I’m using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Dark Brown very sparingly just to give the front of my brows a bitta definition, and I softened the boys by using the NYX Control Freak Eyebrow Gel and flickin the brows upwards at the front and then outwards towards the end (Shop here and here).

To lessen the brows harsh shape, I swept the Kiko Fine Art Eye Pencil in 01 White underneath and blended in using my little finger because is there even such a thing as an eyebrow blender/smudger/ brush thing?!

E Y E S

I gotta confess, I love eyeshadow but I’m not the best when it comes to intricate looks with multiple colours. TBH I stick to two or three nude-y looking tones and I’m still like FFS you can’t even notice them in photos.

But y’know, subtle and chic that’s kinda what I was goin’ for.

The tones that are in for Spring are pinky; I used a couple of the matte nude pink and oyster colour from the Revolution Eyeshadow Palette Matte Forecast Edit 2017 and kept the pink tones near both corners of my eye and the paler shade in the middle to lift the eyelids. Unfortunately this palette only comes in the Revolution 12 Days Of Christmas Chest but Maybelline Nude Eyeshadow Palette is a great alternative (Shop here).

I kept my liner not too heavy by using Bobbi Brown’s Perfectly Defined Gel Liner which I love love love and use pretty much everyday as an alternative to liquid; it’s easy to put on, lasts all day and can be smudged for a more relaxed look, this is literally my perfect liner (Shop here).

I finished of my eyes with a sweep of Estee Lauder Little Black Primer  and Bobbi Brown Intensifying Long-Wear Mascara on the upper lashes and a touch on the lowers for fluttery effect lashes and guess what boos, IT’S COMPLETELY SMUDGE PROOF high fives all round amiright (Shop here and here).

L I P S

LFW really showed of some bold AF lips with minimal eye makeup and as I was like wooooah don’t think I can pull that one off I opted for the blogging Worlds trusted NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo which is SO flipping dreamy and pigmented it’s my absolute go-to for long lasting and bold colour. To add a teeeny bit of gloss to not go completely matte I topped with a sliver of Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss in Natural Rosewood and I was literally done; completely fuss-free style (Shop here and here)

H A I R

I am the laziest person ever when it comes to hair, I’ll either somehow manage to pull off lazy waves for a couple of days in a row or I shove it up into some kind of bun/ ponytail hybrid. My sister Chloe is the real stylist, but me IDK it’s not usually the most important part of my style.

So with that in mind, when I need a new updo I love something that can be used everyday which is easy, chic and can be messy and relaxed.

I just kinda made this up based on spending the morning casually browsing on Pinterest, but I pulled my hair into a low bun and missed out two large sections at the front. Once I’d pinned the main bun I brought one section across my head, wrapped around the bun I just made and pinned into place. I then repeated on the other side and was like omfg did I really just manage to do a Pinterest worthy updo?

I’m thinking this is very much pretty Spring Parisian style; imagine pedalling along the city streets in a blush and rose gold bike with a basket full of brie, bread and french bulldog puppies…

PHEW WHATTA LONG POST

So then gals, which beauty look are you looking forward to trying out first?

Why It’s OK To Feel Lonely

Most of the time I’m fulfilled.

Like that overwhelming, warm feeling of knowing that my job is good, my relationship is great, I’ve just been out for brunch with the girls after my quick sesh at the gym and to top it off, I blogged until midnight because BOY am I on form today.

If I could, I would srsly make myself that sparkly, golden version of me everyday because I’m productive, energetic and I’m all WHO RUNS THE WORLD (me).

But sometimes, sometimes I don’t feel like that.

Sometimes I am so incredibly lonely all I can do is focus on one thing. I mean, sometimes I barely have the energy to get up from my blanket-burrito-slash-cave I’ve been sitting in for a couple of hours because all I can think of is ‘I’m so alone’ and ‘why does nobody ever message me’ and FFS even Netflix hasn’t noticed I’ve been watching How I Met Your Mother for about 6 hours now.

Two Cats One Flat Bristol Lifestyle Beauty Blogger Why It's OK To Feel Lonely, How To Stop Feeling Lonely

Two Cats One Flat Bristol Lifestyle Beauty Blogger Why It's OK To Feel Lonely, How To Stop Feeling Lonely

Loneliness is just temporary but you need to come back with a refreshed mind and a plan, otherwise you could end up falling deeper and deeper into a black hole that is really hard to get out of.

The first time I felt really alone was when I started a new school in sixth form; not only was starting a brand new school all over again with new teachers, building and people hard enough, but whenever I was struggling with classes or the people in my class I felt as if I was truly alone. No one to help, no one to listen.

Was my issue me all along? I sorta allowed myself to feel lonely and keep on feeling that until I decided to leave school.

But OH BOY how I wished that I could go back now and tell 16 year old me it’s OK to feel lonely sometimes. That loneliness is just temporary but you need to come back with a refreshed mind and a plan, otherwise you could end up falling deeper and deeper into a black hole that is really hard to get out of.

The other day I felt lonely for the first time in a while. I’d been stressed out by a possible house-move, overthinking work, beating myself up about procrastinating going to the gym and ordering copious amounts of Chinese food the day before cus FFS I have no willpower and why am I not a size 6 after one post Christmas gym session?

And to top it off, literally no messages from anyone about anything which made me think OH GOD I’m a hugely unsociable hermit no one loves me blahblahblah.

So I decided to try and combat my loneliness instead of continuing to mould the shape of my unmoved body from the sofa because LOL if I stayed there any longer I probably would have been swallowed up whole by the scatter cushions.

I needed to get off social media for a bit. Social media has this horrible habit of making you feel you sparkly and motivated one minute, and the next I’m like why doesn’t my arse look as good as that? How did she get her living room looking like that mine is pants in comparison. Why can’t I be spending New Year in the Maldives? OH YES BECAUSE I’M LONELY AND HAVE NO ONE TO GO WITH (and the spiral continues for another 3 hours or so).

Luckily for me my phone ran out of battery, so to resist all temptation I put my iPad on aeroplane mode because how many pictures of a flatlay brunch can you see anyway before feeling weirdly turned off from having avo and eggs on sourdough bread ever again and being reminded of that you have no-one to go with anyway?

So, I then started looking at my diary and started booking some plans even though I really didn’t want to right at that moment and I couldn’t even imagine ever leaving my house again, just that little knowledge that tomorrow is the chance to do something slightly different from today left me feeling better.

Not just better, almost like I needed to take that step back to think about the week ahead and remotivate myself to get back out there and own it all over again *sassy finger wiggle*.

Just having that little knowledge that tomorrow is the chance to do something slightly different from today left me feeling better.

It then got me thinking about why so many of my weekends are free RN I mean, we’re saving atm so that means no meals out and definitely no more Estée Lauder makeup for a while, but I hadn’t made plans with my friends in so long I would have been suprised if they still remembered what I looked like anymore LOL complete exaggeration, you can’t forget this face.

I reached out to my friends and it was SO GOOD to hear about them and what they’d been up to that I felt so incredibly guilty for not reaching out to them sooner. Feeling lonely always makes me wonder why I never receive any messages and why does no one ever seem to want to speak to me, but I realised that maybe my friends were waiting for me to reach out to them too.

Feeling lonely can actually be a great opportunity to turn a night from feeling like the World is against you into the perfect evening to learn how love to be in your own company. Over time, I’ve learnt that I can combat boredom and loneliness by making my way through that reading list I always intended on starting, pushing through my feelings and working hard on my blog or TBH it’s mostly spent with a face mask on, sitting in a warm bath giving myself a HUGE detox (BIG glass of wine in hand).

IDK whether it’s just me but I usually have such a large to do list that as much as I REALLY, REALLY don’t want to, keeping busy prevents those pesky feelings of loneliness from completely knocking me over and basically paralysing me to do anything other than the ability to shuffle downstairs to collect a dominoes pizza because comfort food amiright.

Loneliness makes you re-evaluate about what makes you happy, and why it feels like something’s missing from your life right now.

Who cares if you just wanna lie in your week old pyjamas eating a large tub of Haagen-Dazs feeling slightly alone with only the company of the Gilmore Girls to try and cheer you up?

It’s OK to feel lonely sometimes because before you know it, the best version of you will be out again soon.

One Cocktail That Will Cure Your January Blues

I know, I know.

That joyous, festive period is over and that over-bearing cycle of sleep-work-gym-repeat has begun all over again and DEAR GOD someone please tell me Christmas 2017 is coming around sometime soon? PUR-LEASE?

But you guys, I found a cure for those January blues.

It’ll make you forget about that huge pile of work you’ve got mounting up on your desk and whisk you back into the land of all things cheerful and sweet with a splash of spice, even if it is for like, 5 minutes before you’re like DAMN IT JANUARY, I forgot you’re here again.

What is the cure? Well pals, it’s a bloody good cocktail.

First off, I just wanna say that this is pretty similar to Irish Cream but hello heavenly cocktail gods, this is probably the best I’ve ever tried. The recipe comes from the Tequila Mockingbird Book which is so utterly adorable it’s earnt a space on my beloved bookshelf. BTW the recipes are mainly in ounces and cups but there’s a handy conversion guide at the end of the book (Shop here).

It’s dead easy to make, delicious and seriously packs a punch; perfect for parties or y’know, sat with an open book and a huge pair of comfy socks for all of those hygge feels (note – sassy pinky wiggling whilst sipping is mandatory).

8 Great Memories 2016 Gave Me

Twenty Sixteen You Absolute Bloody Babe.

It feels strange, no scrap that, SURREAL that I’m sitting here now reflecting back on this amazing year because err it’s over already and WHEN THE HECK did that happen?

For most of the internet right now, it’s probably safe to say that 2016 may have been a bit of stinker but IDK, for me (in the famous words of Kylie Jenner) it’s been the year of realising stuff (peace emoji amiright).

About a month ago something really knocked my confidence, not so much to completely derail me but enough to not make me feel shiny and all YOU GO GET ‘EM GIRL anymore but do y’know what, it prompted me to go back over ALL those flippin’ incredible moments that happened in 2016 and how terribly gutted I am that it’s going to be over.

2016 really made me appreciate all the people in my life and everything I have so here we go you sweet, intrigued pals – I give you some of my best highlights:

8. We did so much to our flat, I mean, if you say it at the stage where we bought it compared to what James and I have managed to achieve you would think HOLY GUACAMOLE is this even the same house? So many weekends we’ve spent charging over to B&Q just before it closes or having heated debates about the exact right shade of paint to paint the hallway (which nearly ended in tears sometimes because every single grey paint pot we picked up was pretty much baby blue and NO that just won’t do James, try the other 9673 tester pots we picked up). The best moment is when we decided to rip up the entire carpet and tiles and put hardwood floor down. James and I are ABSOLULTELY shattered, the whole house is covered in dust and wood and we have no functioning kitchen so we went to the pub and srsly, I honestly can’t remember the last time a burger and a glass of wine tasted so good.

Two Cats One Flat Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Bristol Blogger Great Memories Of 2016

LOL no that isn’t an abandoned jumper lying on the sofa, it is in fact a cat that refuses to move but AW look at the baby [cooing continues for about 10 minutes]

7. In March I changed jobs. This really wasn’t an easy decision, I’d worked desperately hard throughout my whole career to become a manager and just when I’d reached my career goal the opportunity came up to do something slightly different; I made a TERRIFYING plunge to leave everything behind that was comfortable and familiar and step into this weird unknown world of working in an office. I absolutely love it and not only do I think it was probably only one of my best decisions of the year, but one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. And girl, y’know I’m completely girl bossin’ it up right? Period.

6. When I had the strangest two weeks after changing my contraceptive implant, I was supposed to have changed my implant in Nov 2015 but being busy (and a lil bit lazy) meant that I’d delayed it to about February kinda time. Not only did I nearly pass out when it was taken out, but I literally couldn’t stop crying for two weeks because HELLO massive influx of new hormones. The worst time was when I watched King Kong, I proper sobbed. Y’know that kind of crying that comes from the deep pit of your stomach and you can’t stop because the pain is too much and WHY CAN’T PEOPLE SEE King Kong was good and couldn’t tell people he wasn’t a monster? Anyway, I hope that I never cry like that again because LOL it was ugly AF and gave me a stomach cramp for like a week.

5. Ah sweet, sweet Portugal. James and I found this incredible deal on Groupon which was a three night stay and flights but literally could be anywhere in the World (OK I’m exaggerating probably just Europe). We were given flights to Faro, Portugal and it was absolutely gorgeous to be away when the weather was really pants back home. Queue a couple of shopping trips, being surrounded by 15 cats, a random parade, getting drunk at a sports bar, a mistaken proposal dinner, running away from someone we thought was stalking us, and probably the best coffee I’ve ever tasted and our couple of days away was over *sigh*.

Two Cats One Flat Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Bristol Blogger Great Memories Of 2016

4. In May, we jetted off to the beautiful island of Zante to see my future sister in law marry her fiancé. 10 days of celebratory cocktails by the pool, long walks on the beach and getting the last preparations ready I literally cannot tell you how proud I was to be her bridesmaid [cue awwwws]. We stayed in the most gorgeous villa with James’s mum and grandparents; we had some hilarious meals out, got a tan, gorged on gyros (gained about half a stone in the process), my hand caught fire. LOL your standard Ward family holiday.

3. My parents, James and I had one of the best weekends ever; for Fathers Day I bought my dad tickets to the Roman Baths. IDK, there’s something really mind blowing about standing in a place where people relaxed and came for healing all those many thousands of years ago. We made a proper weekend of it, spent the last part of the day in a spa/ hotel, splashed around in the pool, drank tea by the poolside, got blasted in the hot tube and had an amazing meal afterwards. Aw, you guys da best.

Two Cats One Flat Beauty Fashion Lifestyle Bristol Blogger Great Memories Of 2016

P.S I’ve been thinking about this for a while and I’m fairly certain my dad is holding an imaginary drink. Just sayin’.

2. Earlier this year, I started this blog and OH Sweet Hagrid I cannot tell you how much this has changed my life. Finally, for the first time, I feel like I can be 100% myself. No filter, no barrier, just me. This blog has given me so many amazing opportunities this year, like taking part of the Quedam shopping challenge, being interviewed on the show Celebz, or being in the bloggers only show of Bristol Fashion Week (ah not the best at not making this sound braggy, but if someone told me last year that I would even start writing I wouldn’t have believed them). Every month Two Cats One Flat is building bigger and bigger and it is literally all down to you, you sassy lil thangs.
P.S no YOU squeal every time your DA gets updated on Moz.

1. JAMES. ASKED. ME. TO. MARRY. HIM. (hurray).
One of the biggest and longest stories ever (read about it here if you missed out) but finally we got engaged. James is my absolute best friend, he completely understands me and we are so similar it is a bit weird but after 4 years of wanting to get married, I couldn’t have asked for a better time to get engaged. LOL OK soppy post over, but be prepared 2017 for the wedding planning to commence!

Two Cats One Flat Bristol Lifestyle Beauty Blogger Revolution Makeup Review and Swatches 12 Days Of Christmas Storage Chest

OK so lemme just start off by saying I’m slightly tipsy on playing around with too many Christmas decorations, jazzy festive tunes and season one of the Gilmore Girls but if there’s anything making me more excited for Christmas right now it is the Revolution 12 Days Of Christmas Storage Chest.

Like I’m srsly swooning over this right now.

Move over beauty advent calendars, because this hefty boy has stormed into my makeup collection and made my December magical.

I mean a girl loves a chocolate calendar but beb, what’s better than having all the beauty buys you need ready for the Christmas party season?

To be honest, this is a hella lot of makeup and individually the makeup in this set would have cost over £80 but GUYS GUYS GUYS we can buy it now for only £35 in Superdrug.

Yeah I know right, shocked emoji and all that.

The box contains:
1x Eye Primer
1x Aqua Priming Base
1x Strobe Cream
1x Lipgloss Set
1x Pro Fixing Spray
1x Blush Palette
1x Strobe Palette
1x Brow Palette
2x Eyeshadow Palettes
1x Ultra Strobe Stick
1x Ultra Contour Stick

I haven’t as yet tried everything in the chest, but my absolute babe out of this set is the eyeshadows; I’ve been after autumnal shades for a while now but every time I wander over to the Mac counter in Cribbs Causeway I’m like  WHY OH WHY Mac is your warm neutral palette £50 ffs.

Anyway these shades are fantastic, they’re super pigmented with a blend of neutral and bold colours, plus they’re all matte and AH GOD I die <3<3<3

The blush was a palette that I didn’t really think that I would get into but ohemgee why did I not realise that I needed multiple shades of blush depending on what I did with my base and how heavy I contoured before?

LOL probably because I wish that I was an expert but really I just make it up as I’m doing my makeup and think meh that’s fine, no one at work will notice anyway.

If I’m being truthfully honest the strobe palette is, oh what’s the word, commendable? IDK OK I super hyped it up in my mind when I first got it out of the storage box.

absolutely adore the different shades of the strobe to be used on different parts of the face and I’m a fan of it’s creamy texture but IDK, I’m used to Revolutions powder highlighter (Shop here) which I think has a bit more of a dramatic effect and BOY does that thing stay on all day.

Buuuut I guess that’s just works for me, but I can tell someone out there is going to really appreciate that sweet, sweet palette.

The brow kit is absolutely gorgeous and literally contains everything that you would need to do get those brows tamed – powder, tint, enhancing wax, sealing wax, highlighter AND strobe.

I have to admit that I’ve got into a bit of a routine with my eyebrow pencil and brow mascara but I was really surprised at how using powder and wax can change my whole look. I think this would be perfect for days when I’m going for that hair up, cosy jumper and a relaxed makeup look but DAMN did my eyebrows look effortless when I tried this.

Last of, the liquid lipsticks OR SO I ASSUMED these are actually quite thick lip glosses. I really appreciated these, I know there’s been a bit of a mixed reaction to these over the blogger sphere but if you were after my opinion, I think these are really well pigmented and last pretty much all morning.

LOL I have this really bad habit of rolling my lips especially when I’m thinking hard, so tbh as much as I love liquid lipsticks I’m like ah man after 2 hours they’ve come off again. NOT WITH THESE BABES.

Oh but FYI, the colours aren’t very intuitive so as much as I think they’re great I can only really wear the end colour because hello practically having foundation lips for the lighter shades.

I will always give you my honest thoughts, so even though I thought some of the items in this set were ABSOLUTELY DIVINE whilst others are just fine… is this worth the money? Absolutely, there’s a load of make up in here that I would have bought individually that would have cost more than the set itself. Do I think this would be an amazing present? Definitely, I have a couple of gal pals that are super into their beauty and tbh would have bought this set for them.

Have you fellas tried the 12 Days Of Christmas Chest, or even any of the Revolution makeup?

Ooh and btw you can shop the post right here

Happy shopping chums.

The 3 Affordable Scents That Have Changed The Perfume Game

H A P P Y   F R I – Y A Y

Like srsly, I don’t know where the time has been going recently.

It only feels about a day ago  I was flashing my engagement ring around thinking OMFG it’s so shiny and how am I so old and I’M GOING TO BE A WIFE.

Guys, that was three weeks ago.

THREE WEEKS AGO.

At this rate I’ll be retired, in a nursing home with 34 cats by erm, this time next year?

Two Cats One Flat Blog Bristol Fashion Beauty Lifestyle Blogger Affordable Perfumes

Anyway, it’s been ages since I’ve written about perfume because tbh I mostly save asking for perfume around Christmas & birthdays because FFS Jimmy Choo Flash why you too expensive to buy on a regular basis?

But I’ve gotta confess, I do have a serious perfume addiction. There’s nothing better than feeling completely on form by having the perfect perfume to capture your mood.

Chilling on the beach in a sassy khaftan? CK Summer is the one. Date night with boo? The fresh, vibrant Paco Rabanne Lady million is your gal pal and when you’re heading out on a girls night out is Versace Crystal Noir all the way because it is ALL ABOUT the sass.

Thing is now, I’m a bit strapped for cash because y’know, wedding, bills and wine and all that.

So I needed some more affordable scents because LOL when I use perfume I could pretty much use half a bottle in one go.

Hmm, maybe I’m a bit too old to have a ‘So..? Kiss Me’ spray in my handbag because HELLO 2006 and being 13 all over again.

New Look – Blush

IDK if you’ve noticed but New Look are absolutely slaying it with their make up at the moment.

So I was having a browse of the gorgeous AF eyeliners and powders the other day and I was like WTH since when did New Look do perfume? Apparently since forever so hello, I’m Charlotte and I’m late to the party as per usual.

I picked up Pure Blush as (in the least technical terms ever) it’s both a light and powerful scent. I’d say it’s feminine and fun but with a wave of sophistication, and I’d easily wear it to work, out to lunch; it’s definitely an everyday handbag favourite.

And there’s a pretty decent range of perfume on the New Look website so get shopping gals.

Body Shop – Smoky Rose

Oh boy. Boy, oh boy, oh boy.

THIS. IS. BAE. <3<3<3

If you caught up on that time I went candle crazy at True Grace (over here) then you’ll know that my absolute fave candle I picked up was ‘Black Lily’ and WOAH MUMMA this is all consuming sexy hunk of a perfume reminds me of why I love it so much.

LOL I just looked back on that blog post now and I was crying out why Black Lily wasn’t made into a perfume… little did I know that I would end up finding a pretty close runner up about 4 months later in the Body Shop.

It’s such a good perfume, it lasts for a long time and I always get asked what I’m wearing when I have it on, I would say though some days it feels a little bit too sweet for days when I just want to be a huge Girl Boss for the day and need a bit more oooomph.

Marks & Spencer – New York New York

I’m in love with New York. Well, I haven’t actually been yet but it’s on my bucket list.

I mean, who doesn’t want to create your fave Blair Waldorf scenes from GG. Lunch on the Met steps anyone?

I’d say New York New York is mostly sweet but fruity, rather than floral, and is almost smooth like cashmere kinda vibes. Like when you splash this on, you almost want to just grab your biggest, comfiest roll neck jumper and head out into a chilly Central Park.

Hey, a girl can dream right? RIGHT?

But I’m just gonna be real honest with you here, this is a lovely perfume but it’s not the first one I would go to y’know? It’s a gorgeous scent but doesn’t seem to last more than 2-3 hours; I have a feeling that this is because I have the eau de toilette rather than parfum so next time I might need to invest a little bit more to get a longer lasting scent.

BTW this lil cutie is included in the Marks & Spencer Black Friday sale so currently is only £4!

As always, lemme know if you’ve got a favourite perfume, or whether you’ve tried any of my go-to scents ❤

Oh my, Marks & Spencer Have Got It SO RIGHT For November.

November.

A month where the excitement of Halloween and scary beauty tutorials are no longer gracing youtube, but the buzz of all things Christmas related are appearing on our Twitter feeds.

OH YES HONEYZ the stark reminder is making me feel slightly sick at the thought that we only have a week of peace until we’re all catapulted into the chaotic, cheery and festive period of December.

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I love Christmas.

I already have the 1st of December booked out in my diary to fill my house full of jazzy christmas tunes, sparkly decorations and the smell of that sweet nectar that is mulled wine. It normally ends with a good bit of Slade and being so tipsy on wine and cheer that snapchat comes out and it’s singing, filters and trying to take selfies with the cats until the end of the night.

FYI, not the cutest end to a dignified pre-christmasy party but LOL I hate to say that this hasn’t happened more than once.

So November, you’re a month where I can still retain some sort of dignity and SWEET DIGGITY doing it in style.

BTW I spent waaaay too long faffing around with my hair in the morning only for the weather to COMPLETELY frizz and flatten it by the time I got to the park, so a) I literally cannot excuse how bad my hair  is in these photos and b) LOL looks like I’m going to need to research some better hair products. Pronto.

FFS why don’t I take an umbrella around with me.

I picked up this ah-ma-zing woollen two toned jacket from Marks & Spencer and I can honestly say that for those milder days that are SOMEHOW still left in November this is literally the perfect thing to wear.

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago when we were wandering around the Marks and Spencer in Cribbs Causeway (met with mostly ‘hmmm’s and ‘I guess that’s nice’ from my shopping partner) it was only when I was offered the opportunity to take part in the Quedam Shopping challenge that I was like yaaaas I’ve been in love with that jacket for weeks and now it’s MINE.

P.S it’s not a reversible jacket, but be prepared to be asked 4195 times a day whether it is by random strangers.

The knee high boots I also nabbed from Marks and Spencer because I literally couldn’t believe how SO DAMN SASSY these make me feel. They’re suede and ooooh so soft, but I would say that because they don’t have a tie near the knee they do fall down a little bit when you walk long distances which is a tad annoying and I DEFINITELY DO NOT recommend you walk on wet grass, in the park, with a 5 inch heel. Everrrr.

Not gonna lie, I literally own about 10 shirts just because I can’t believe how sophisticated and relaxed they make me feel PLUS the fit and the colour on this New Look babe is just <3<3<3.

My bag was probably the biggest steal ever because not only was this hot mumma £12.99 from my boo H&M but ALSO because I’ve worn it pretty much everyday.

Granted, it’s not the usual huge bucket kinda bag I normally carry around to house my lipstick, tissues, out of home delivery notes from DHL…. but is big enough for my huge purse, my house keys, a pair of gloves and about 35 lipsticks that I always have to carry around with me.

Y’know, the basics

I have a feeling that the next time I wear this I’m going to have to wear my outfit combo with the hat that I fell in love with at my Zara haul because it is amazing and everytime I catch myself in the mirror I’m like damn girl you look mysteriously sassy today

HAPPY SHOPPING ❤

Two Cats, One Flat and a FIANCÉ?!

I’m just going to get right in there and give you all the biggest news EVER that I’ve been dying to write about all week.

I ‘ M    E N G A G E D !

Bride emoji, ring emoji, every bloody emoji under the sun.

I am now a bride to be. Me. A BRIDE.

It’s almost as if the more times I say and write this down it’s going to feel more real but OMG it’s been one hell of a week and my ring still catches my eye every time I start typing (or eating dinner, or brushing my teeth, or basically doing anything that involves my hand) and I still can’t quite believe it.

I’m going to rewind a little bit to give you the full story. Every last glorious, hilarious and heart swelling detail.

Oh and BTW I’m not going to apologise for the smushy blog post below so read below with caution if you’re prone to being a little bit sick whilst reading romantic prose.

Soz but not soz.

Two Cats One Flat Lifestyle Blogger Engagement Blog Post

Ever since I was young I always had this hunch that I was going to get married in my future.

IDK why, even when I was about 8 or 9 I used to fall asleep thinking of a version of me, 15 years in the future, having met my future husband and wondering what does he look like? Will he be my best friend? Will he like The Sims and Harry Potter and Tamagotchis as much as me?

LOL, can’t blame 9 year old me for not thinking about the important things in life.

I remember once looking out of my bedroom window thinking, where is he in the World right now?

I used to like to imagine that I would meet him somewhere crazy like hanging out of the back of a Jeep in Africa on a safari, or when I’m working as a dentist in New York and we bump into each other on the sidewalk, or when I’m hiding from the rain in a quite corner of a coffee shop in London and he comes over to ask me about the book I’m reading.

The reality is that nope I’m not a dentist, I’ve never travelled anywhere further than Greece and we actually met in a grotty nightclub in Kettering.

Who said romance was dead!

But if I could give a message to 9 year old me, I would say:

You’re gonna meet your future husband when you’re 19. BTW you’re drunk, everyone looks a bit blurry and you’re unsteady in your 7 inch heels but you’re going to remember this guy who looks very sober and looks incredibly smart for your otherwise regular night out on the town.

You’re going to keep on bumping into him all night because for some reason you find him  funny and a bit alluring and you’re STILL thinking to yourself why the heck is he wearing a shirt in town. Oh, and by the way he pinches your bum and it’s pretty much sealed the deal when you realised that he’s cheeky too because WHO KNEW you were going to turn out to be so easily pleased.

Over the years, you’re going to follow him to Bristol and realise that he is every inch the hilarious, sweet best friend that you could ever have wished for. You’re going to become cat parents, owners of a property and he’s always going to constantly be pushing you to develop into the kind of person that you knew you always wanted to be.

Oh, BTW he hasn’t stopped being cheeky.

SO. All of the above taken into consideration, I’m sure that it would come as no surprise to you AT ALL that when I knew James was the guy I wanted to get married to (which was pretty much as soon as we started seeing each other) I wanted to get engaged.

I mean, I wasn’t precious about whenever we did. All I wanted was for us to have bought a house and be happy in every other aspect of our lives at the point that we would think about taking the step further which is why BOY OH BOY recently I felt like it was definitely the right time to get engaged.

You’re gonna meet your future husband when you’re 19. BTW you’re drunk, everyone looks a bit blurry and you’re unsteady in your 7 inch heels but you’re going to remember this guy.

So, last Thursday.

Last Thursday was mine and James’s 4 year anniversary. As per usual whenever I get really busy I get quite stressed out so after a busy day at work I remembered that OH SHIT I was supposed to have picked up the presents I needed to give James that night. So, off I went to Sainsbury’s (and spent a good deal of time looking at the clothes and homeware because good god they have a lot of good things in right now).

So that meant that I should have been home a lot earlier than I actually made it.

James should have already have been home by that time, but standing outside I couldn’t see any lights on and I thought that’s weird, hope he’s not late leaving work, omg what if he’s been hit by a car cycling home, am I going to have to call all the local hospitals again to try and find out where he’s been admitted to blah blah blah.

Y’know, usual thoughts.

As soon as I walked through my front door, everything was dark apart from light coming from hundreds of tea lights in arrows directing me to the living room.

Oh and there was rose petals EVERYWHERE, almost as if 5 dozen red roses had just exploded and scattered themselves around every inch of my house.

As I walked through into my living room, I had a written note to tell me to stand in the middle of a huge, tea light and red petal heart and close my eyes. Then, he appeared out from behind the living room curtain, bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

Besides from just about managing to say YES (I didn’t have any words at first I KNOW RIGHT) but after a combination of crying and a bit of a weird, creepy laugh that was obviously coming from me, all I could do was explode into his arms and experience pure joy from head to toe.

30 minutes combined effort of blowing out about 100 tea lights and ringing every person we know under the sun, James then took me out to our favourite restaurant the Pony & Trap in  Chew Magna (visit them and their FLIPPIN AMAZING MENU here)

Besides from just about managing to say YES, all I could do was explode into his arms and experience pure joy from head to toe.

It’s been a week now, and I’m STILL getting used to calling James my fiancé. When I’m talking to most people I’ve literally been like oh yeah my boyfriend HOLY HAGRID I FORGOT I’M ENGAGED my fiancé blah blah blah.

I love my ring. It’s from Goldsmiths and I know how much thought James put into this particular ring and I have to say, I’m so impressed with how well James understands my style.

In other words – it’s absolutely, unconditionally, truly and completely perfect.

I’m absolutely petrified to take it off though; I’m taking it off for showers and when I’m doing the washing up but as I sleep in it I’m having horrendous anxiety when I wake up thinking OH GOD the diamond’s fallen off or IT’S NOT ON MY FINGER ANYMORE oh wait yes it is. I’ve even woken up at about 2am one night wondering whether it’s even humanly possible to accidentally swallow the whole ring in my sleep.

And I’m not gonna lie about how much I’ve been looking forward to this bit but HELL YES GIRLS it’s time to plan a wedding.

I’ve only got a super vague idea of flowers, colour, OMG THE DRESS. But for now you can follow my obsession with pinning ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING on Pinterest right over here.

So now there’s only one thing for it –
